Though unauthorised by the artist or their record company, at the time of release this was a legal issue. The banner across the front "Unauthorised" and the accompanying words placed on the release prominently were part of the case made by the manufacturer to ensure that the general public did not mistake it for an official release, and was sufficient to please the courts.
