A nationwide dance contest called the “Brooke Bond T-Beat” and “Brooke Bond Tea Beat” was sponsored by Brooke Bond and open to the public. Heats would be held in Mecca ballrooms up and down the country. Initially it looks like it was specifically a twisting competition before later become a freestyle competition. In 1967 the final was held at the Lyceum in London before an audience of more than 2000 people. We think this single was produced in conjunction with the competition.
