Notes

Rob Bailey went from QVC web designer, to bodybuilder, to musician with this debut LP called Go, an album that features uncommon lyrics like "Staring up at the stars at night/And they're staring back at me/'Cuz they get it!" It's also a mash of EDM, dubstep, and hip-hop all topped with a title that rhymes with "bro," but even if this positive and pounding effort is the ultimate in hipster poison, Bailey is an entirely sincere dude, and twice as talented as he is shameless. Lyrics come with way more f-bombs than any local gym would allow, and amongst all these expected rap ballads and EDM punchers there's a surprising amount of synth pop. In the end, the Hustle Standard sound like Brokencyde grew up and got their shizz together, so leave those preconceived "bro" notions at home because the worthy Go doesn't suffer that kind of foolishness.
