The need of setting up a label like UMM (Underground Music Mouvement) was born from the will of producing a kind of dance music beyond the normal logic of commercially viable products. New, quality music, UNDERGROUND music. Today the utilisation of the term Underground has taken a more general meaning, often in contrast with the original inspiration that has been the basis for the establishment and worlwide recognition of UMM. The products released under this label reflect the desire of stepping beyond the "routine", of experimenting as is the case of such records as "NoFutureNoPast" and the more recent "Four Journeys" produced by Visnadi.
UMM has been at work for ever one and a half years, but we believe the six months of such activity to be the more representative of the artistic goals that we set ourselves in the beginning. In recent times we have also been inserting in the label tracks that have been acquired under licence from abroad such as Lion Rock "Roots'n'Culture - CLS "Can You Feel It" - Chestnut "Pot of Gold" - House of Gypsies "Samba" - Roger S. "The Conversation" - The Neverending Dreams "Dreams", to name but a few, all of which fall into our definition of Underground. Although remaining faithful to the original inspiration that spurred its creation, lately UMM has also witnessed an increased interest and recognition from the public, therefore satisfying the commercial needs of a label.
