Notes

Front label title states "Symphony No. 6 / Fidelio Overture". This in error as the "Fidelio Overture" does not appear on this release. The correct title is shown.

This appears to be the 1959 recording, dressed up to look like (and cash in on) the genuine quadrophonic recording - Boult had recorded the work in 1959, and re-recorded it in quad in 1978. This one has the same artwork as previous releases of the first version, and the telltale phrase "simulating true quadrophonic" on the cover gives the game away... Presumably this was released, by sheer coincidence, in 1978!
