Some years ago Rarities produces eight 10" records, RAL 2 up to RAL 9, which - together with the Riverside RM 8807 - would make a complete, chronological series of all the recordings by Ma Rainey. But the ninth volume, containing the last two sessions and the alternates was never produced.

This album fills out that gap and, as in the meantime some more alternates were found, it makes the album still more valuable as the originally planned last record.

Those collectors who did not buy those Rarities will have bought all or most of the Biograph - Milestone series, for the deleted Riverside RM 8807 either Biograph 12032, Cardin 93516 or Music Parade 213, and sometimes MRB 4020.

Thus for those collectors this album might give many duplications. The breakdown of this record is as follows:
